The owner was more than impressed with the designs I came up with. At the time, I used Photoshop to design the mockups because Adobe XD and Figma did not yet exist. I’m glad the project was to create just three pages because designing a website design system in Photoshop is not easy, although now the program allows for multiple art boards.

For each design, I used a different user interface approach. The light grey mockup, I asked the user questions that relates to the featured product. I highlighted an article that answers the question what is “Yin Chiao” and an article that explain what Chinese medicine even is. Engaging the user and being helpful in explaining the product up front puts the user at ease instead assuming they should know something. The yellow design used tab UI to make information about a product easy to find. Making products easy to find and answering questions about the product gives the user the feeling of trust which helps move them along the customer journey.
