The new brand elements was part of the brand refresh project. We used the new branding colors we created in collaboration with an outside web design agency. The branding element was a step towards updating the look of marketing materials such as power point templates, letterhead, and social media posts.
I conducted visual research for the project by looking at architecture in Philadelphia and corporate branding templates. I noticed connecting triangles is a repeating design pattern in Philadelphia architecture like the One Liberty Place building downtown, so I used triangles in the design of the new branding element. Unlike designing a landing page or social post, designing anything brand-related I take seriously because the final design will be around for a long time and represent the organization. Although the old Philadelphia Works logo was still kept, the design element is a step towards modernizing the organization’s brand.
